Greetings to you from Cornelius Corps during this holy season of Advent and Christmas. This is the second of three reflections during December focused on our year end financial campaign. The goal of this year’s financial campaign is $15,000. We have already raised $6,500 toward that goal. In these reflections, several of our Board members reflect on the ministry of Cornelius Corps – past, present, and future.  Please consider helping us reach our goal through partnering with Cornelius Corps by making a year-end, tax-deductible gift. If you receive this via email, you can use the donate button at the bottom of the email. The donate button is also available on our website: (www.corneliuscorps.org). Another option is sending a check made out to Cornelius Corps and mailing it to Cornelius Corps, 10002 Locklies Drive Glen Allen, VA 23060.

Through the generosity of our supporters, the impact of Cornelius Corps has continued to grow from our founding in 2001. In this post, The Rev. Adrienne Reedy reflects on her commitment to our ministry by highlighting the impact of Cornelius Corps programs in 2024. As part of her reflection, Adrienne includes an original piece of her art:

As an active board member of Cornelius Corps, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the profound impact our programs have made on individuals and communities. As a singer, the joy of sharing music and prayer online, facilitating the candid conversations in our breakout sessions – these experiences highlight what makes Cornelius Corps truly special.

Our organization creates a unique space where people from diverse backgrounds engage in honest and compassionate dialogue, addressing challenging topics. With Christ at the center, we foster a supportive environment that encourages vulnerability and understanding, towards action.

Reflecting on the Legacy of the Civil Rights Movement workshop, I’m inspired by the courage of the young people we learned about who sacrificed for a better future. Their unwavering commitment to justice resonates with me, and I strive to honor their legacy by contributing my time, talent, and resources to Cornelius Corps. In my painting Joy, Unspeakable Joy, capturing the beauty of the joy in the children is a reminder of the work that remains for their generation.

As we approach this Christmas season, let’s embrace the spirit of joy and generosity. By supporting Cornelius Corps, you’ll be helping to create a more just and equitable world for future generations. Your contribution will enable us to continue offering vital programs that empower individuals and strengthen communities.

Please consider making a generous donation today. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
