The Legacy of the Civil Rights Movement for Today (3-5 sessions online or in person): A detailed focus on specific years in the modern Civil Rights Movement (1954-1968) to commemorate the anniversaries of significant events of that year – for example 2024 marks the 70th anniversary of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case as well as the 60th anniversary of events in 1964 including Freedom Summer and the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The purpose is to provide participants with the specific historical context of these events to equip and empower to engage in the ministry of racial justice and reconciliation in our specific historical context.
